It is said that the internet is the way of the future. It is the medium where a small company can compete with the large multinational companies on an equal footing. There are no borders or boundaries to limit the reach of your product and it is easy to have a client base that is world wide form Latavia to Los Angeles.

 

This is especially true for Australians who live on the smallest continent or largest island in the world. Even with Australia�s geographic and population limitations it has some wonderful enterprising individuals that have started fantastic innovative companies. However if a companies products are not marketed correctly, if those products or services that are being offered are not getting in front of the potential customers that are interested in the offer then there is a large likelihood that the business may not be as successful as it could be.

 

This is also true for tourism, where each accommodation venue or tourist attraction can receive more visitors, more national and international recognition and business through the effective use of the internet.

Having worked on the internet and web marketing in various endeavors I have gathered a body of knowledge which is becoming more essential to just about every business. In my role as Digital Distribution Manager at Tourism Tasmania, my focus is on providing some of this knowledge to Tasmanian tourism operators, as well as help Tourism Tasmania create the best web presence possible.
