Great Photoshop tutorial
Photoshop is to a website creator what a drill is to a dentist. Both instruments have huge potential to fix our problems. The trick is learning how to use the tool correctly.
The right tools of the trade make an amateur into a serious amateur, and knowing how to use the tool creates a professional. In between the amateur and professional statuses there is a world of learning that occurs, which makes all the difference. And that is why I have not taken up the offer of my brother in law to fix my teeth with his black&decker drill.
Learning how to use Photoshop can be a hack and play and will absorb hours of your time, probably as enjoyable as a golf game which you love to hate. The other way to get ahead quickly is to attend lectures, go through online tutorials and buy books on the subject of Photoshop that will take you in a step by step walk through showing you almost everything you will need to know.
Recently a great Photoshop tutorial was posted on the Sitepoint website written by Corrie Haffley. It is definitely worth a read if you are struggling with images and graphics for a web project.
Corrie leads you through menu-bars, palettes, Photoshop layers, brushes, shapes, masks, alpha channels and a whole bunch more. Before you give up or pull your hair out have a look a Sitepoints on line tutorial.
