The World Wide Web with out the junk
There are so many sites out there all with heaps of information. Blogs are some of the best places to get the information that you are looking for. Here is a blog post about the best 50 blogs on Internet and optimization, which is my area of interest.
With all this information out there it is easy to target a list of blogs that carry the type of information that you are looking for. Many of these websites or blogs are updated regularly, probably more frequently than any one has time to actually go and read all of the information being written.
One of the ways of being alerted to new information being posted on a particular blog is by subscribing to its email alerts. When a new article is posted by the blog which you have subscribed to you will be alerted to the fact that there is new information available. This alert will pop in to your email inbox along with everything else. Or it may be blocked by your spam blocker which will then allow some other junk through(!)

Email inboxes have become over crowded and are a point of much frustration to many of us as hundreds of junk and relevant emails pour in. By the time all the junk has been sifted out, the fun of reading new information is gone and so is your time.
So how can you get this information with out the frustration? Have you heard of a RSS feed? And do you know what it can do for you? A RSS feed, or aggregator as they are called, allows you to be notified in a much more peaceful manner. It is devoid of spam, no one can use it to send you heaps of unwanted irrelevant junk.
I enjoy using Google reader as my feed reader. There are lots of different options out there and they all come completely free. Do a quick search look for feed readers or aggregators and choose the one that you like best.
To get started with google reader is quite simple. You need to create a google account, which will require your email address and a password. You can do this by starting from the home page and selecting create account or by going to www.google.com/reader Once your google account is created and verified you can add the reader by selecting services.
Here comes the fun part, go to your favorite blog and look for the orange button that looks like this.
Then Click it. You will be taken to a page which will give you an option of adding the feed to your reader or your home page. Select adding the feed to your reader.

You now have an aggregator which you can use to control the content coming into your account. You are able to read the information or discard it depending on your mood, either way you will not need to wade through all the junk that comes to your email inbox to get good quality information that will keep you ahead of the pack.
